Haley Lowe, program coordinator for Virginia Tech’s K-12 Initiatives in the greater Washington, D.C., area, has been selected to participate in the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Alexandria program. The nine-month program connects, educates, and inspires community leaders through exclusive access to Alexandria’s most influential institutions, professional development opportunities, and peer collaboration.

As part of the 2025-26 cohort, Lowe will join a small group of emerging and established leaders exploring topics such as local and state government, education, economic development, arts and culture, public safety, and environmental sustainability. The program emphasizes leadership growth through the Work of Leaders framework and provides participants with the tools to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

“What I look forward to most from this program is the growth and confidence one gains within their own leadership style and practices,” she said.

Lowe brings to the cohort a passion for STEM education and equity in learning. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a STEAM focus at The George Washington University.
