The opening of the Biennale Architettura 2025 this spring marked the beginning of a six-month Virginia Tech Honors College “unEarthed/Second Nature/PolliNATION” exhibition that will be showcased through November in Venice, Italy. Twenty-five students traveled to Venice to attend the opening events of this prestigious showcase, presenting their projects to an international audience as part of the exclusive exhibition.

This month, the European Cultural Centre-Italy named “unEarthed/Second Nature/PolliNATION” a finalist for the University Project Award. The project is just one of 21 exhibitions it shortlisted from a pool of over 200 international showcases as part of its "Time Space Existence" celebration. The award winners will be announced at the Biennale Architettura 2025 closing on Nov. 23 in Venice.

Held every two years, the event is considered the international “Olympics of Architecture,” where top architects, designers, and institutions from around the world present groundbreaking ideas and research.
