Greyson Moore
Degree: PhD/DVM, 2028, Public Corporate
Hometown: Louisa, Virginia
My undergraduate was in…
Biology with a minor in chemistry from Mary Baldwin University.
Best part of being a VMCVM student…
My support system I have been able to build through my friendships with other students from all different types of programs (graduate, dual-degree, DVM, etc).
The moment I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian/public health professional was…
Becoming a veterinarian has been my dream since I was a little kid. While my exact career goals have changed over the years, my love for animal health has remained constant!
My hidden talent...
I've worked as a scare actor for haunted attractions during the spooky season.
A person who has inspired me...
My mom, a lobbyist with Virginia Farm Bureau, has always worked hard to help me explore my dream path and expose me to as many different facets of agriculture as possible. She has inspired me and given me the resources to look beyond clinical practice and pursue other public/corporate opportunities within veterinary medicine.

Biggest misconception about being a veterinarian/public health student…
We only focus on animals. There is a lot more that we have to learn about the environment, human health, and agricultural industries to be effective veterinarians.
If I had a superpower, it would be...
Shapeshifting ... who wouldn't want to be a dragon?.
My no-fail, go-for-it motivational song...
"Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time" by Panic at the Disco
The course project/study you're most excited about...
My Ph.D. research has involved infectious diseases of the nervous system and sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) so anything with the nervous system, infectious diseases, or reproduction is really interesting to me!
What excites me the most about the future of my industry...
The diversity that is ever growing in the veterinary profession and the representation of all different types of people and perspectives that come together for improving one health.
Favorite way to end the day...
A good book and warm cup of tea.
Top of my bucket list...
Be a historical reenactor.
How many pets/animals live at home? Can you tell us about them?
I have a 9-year-old cat named O'Malley, and a 10-year-old rabbit named Cinnamon Bun. O'Malley is a rambunctious and vocal cat who loves to go outside on his leash for walks. Bun is a grumpy little lop-eared bunny who absolutely goes crazy for some grapes and kale.
