Two new faculty join CNRE: Ashleigh Kirker and Pipiet Larasatie
Ashleigh Kirker
Kirker joined the Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation as an assistant professor. She is also a part of the Virginia Water Resources Research Center. Her primary interest areas are: Urban hydrology, Land use legacies, Process-based hydrologic modeling, and Wetland function and connectivity. She expects to teach a course titled Forest Soil and Watershed Management in the fall semester.
Pipiet Larasatie
Larasatie joined the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials as an assistant professor and an extension specialist. She is an interdisciplinary scholar and social scientist researching forest sector competitiveness and sustainable business management of natural resources. Her research addresses broad questions about the competitiveness of the forest sector and focuses specifically on the dynamics of industry business and marketing practices.
