Jackie McClanahan named human resources division director for Division of Facilities
Jackie McClanahan has been named to the role of human resources division director for the Division of Facilities. She has served in the interim position since 2024.
McClanahan joined Virginia Tech in 2017 and has served in various leadership roles in the Pamplin College of Business, the Division of Human Resources, and the Division of Facilities.
“Jackie’s consistency and skill have continued to shine since her start here at Virginia Tech. Her persistent growth into this most recent role highlights our strong talent pool and our commitment to foster new leaders internally,” said Bryan Garey, vice president for human resources.
Before joining Virginia Tech, McClanahan served as a human resources analyst at New River Community College and an administrative assistant and HR liaison for athletics at Radford University.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University and a master’s degree in management and leadership from Liberty University. She is currently a part-time fitness instructor. Previously, McClanahan was employed with Peak Fitness and the YMCA of Pulaski County.
“Jackie has shown great leadership and teamwork in her interim role, and we’re excited to have her work with us in this capacity on a permanent basis,” said Dwyn Taylor, vice president for facilities and chief facilities officer.
McClanahan will continue to jointly report to Jon Clark Teglas, chief of staff to the vice president for facilities, and Steve Filipiak, senior human resources division director for University Operations.
