Virginia Tech recognizes employees for 15,265 years of combined service

Virginia Tech recognized 801 employees for their commitment to service during events that took place April 15 and April 22. Collectively, these employees have dedicated more than 15,265 years of service to the university.
“Virginia Tech benefits every day from the collective expertise and dedication of our employees who have contributed to the university’s growth over the years,” said President Tim Sands. “I thank each of them for their invaluable service and congratulate them on their significant achievements.”
“We appreciate the commitment our faculty and staff bring to the university,” said Vice President for Human Resources Bryan Garey. “Combined with their knowledge and experience, their service commitment impacts Virginia Tech in a positive way. It’s an honor to celebrate these milestones with our faculty and staff.”
The service recognition program acknowledges employees' service to the university in five-year increments, beginning at 10 years. Of the employees recognized this year, 39 have served Virginia Tech for 40 years or more, representing more than 1,680 years of combined service.

Employees with 25 or more years of service received an etched Hokie Stone, a symbol of strength and stability. The stone reflects the foundational commitment of each employee who receives one. Starting at 40 years of service, employees receive a Hokie Stone personalized with their names and years of service.
All employees received a service lapel pin and certificate. View the website that shows employees recognized this year.
