Jennifer Cummins named associate director of marketing and communications for the Virginia Alliance for Semiconductor Technology

Jennifer Cummins has been named the associate director of marketing and communications for the Virginia Alliance for Semiconductor Technology (VAST). Cummins is an experienced storyteller with a track record of transforming complex topics into compelling narratives across multiple industries.
Cummins will serve as the narrative architect for VAST, translating groundbreaking technological advancements into stories that resonate across audiences. Her role extends far beyond traditional marketing; she will be responsible for crafting strategic communication that connects VAST's innovative work with students, industry professionals, academic partners, and the broader community, ensuring that VAST's message reaches and inspires the next generation of semiconductor professionals.
A veteran of digital marketing and strategic communications, Cummins brings a unique blend of technical storytelling and creative leadership. Her professional journey—which spans from sports broadcasting to global media networks like ABC News and Turner Broadcasting—has consistently demonstrated an ability to distill complex information into engaging narratives. As the founder of Coral House Productions, she spent the last decade helping businesses articulate their core messages, a skill that directly translates to VAST's mission of communicating the critical importance of semiconductor technology.
At the heart of her mission is amplifying VAST's groundbreaking initiatives, particularly the Fast Track to Semiconductor Careers program. This innovative certificate program focuses on reskilling and upskilling veterans and adult learners in critical areas of the semiconductor industry, from chip fabrication to equipment maintenance. Through targeted campaigns, Cummins will connect potential students with these transformative educational opportunities, strengthening Virginia's emerging semiconductor workforce.
"Jennifer's unique background in storytelling and strategic communications makes her an invaluable addition to our team," said Masoud Agah, executive director of VAST. "She will work with the communications and marketing teams at different state universities and agencies to ensure that the excellence of semiconductor research and innovation across the Commonwealth are brought to light."
The Virginia Alliance for Semiconductor Technology is a collaborative network of semiconductor, microelectronics, and nanotechnology industries, and Virginia colleges and universities providing access to state-of-the-art research facilities and training programs to bolster workforce access in addition to advocating the growth of semiconductors. VAST’s six academic affiliates share more than 35,000 square feet of semiconductor fabrication facilities and 30,000 square feet of material metrology and packaging facilities that are used by more than 150 research faculty and 600 highly skilled university students throughout Virginia.
