WHAT: Built at the nexus of academia, industry, and government, the first academic building of Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus will open to its first cohort of students who will be equipped to solve urgent challenges, alongside leading researchers, industry executives, and national policymakers. Members of the media are invited for the first day of classes to tour the space and speak with the Innovation Campus Vice President and Executive Director, as well as students and faculty to learn about the exciting work that will soon be underway. 

Located adjacent to the nation’s capital, Virginia Tech’s new 11-story, 300,000-square-foot academic building in the Potomac Yard neighborhood will unlock the power of diverse people and ideas to solve the world’s most pressing problems through technology. 

The tour will include the first-floor welcome area, classrooms, lab spaces, the Hokie One Stop student services area, and an incredible view from the top of the D.C. and Alexandria skyline.
