Jennifer Davis named College of Engineering’s director of college scholarships
Jennifer Davis has been named the director of college scholarships for the Virginia Tech College of Engineering effective Jan. 13.
In this role, Davis will oversee the college’s scholarship programs, ensuring students receive the support necessary to pursue their academic goals. Her expertise in both financial aid management and student engagement will be invaluable as the college continues to expand its scholarship offerings in alignment with university priorities.
“Jennifer’s extensive background in financial aid, student services, and higher education administration brings a wealth of experience that will greatly enhance our scholarship initiatives,” said Julie Ross, the Paul and Dorothea Torgersen Dean of Engineering. “We are excited to have her join the team as we continue to find ways to make the Virginia Tech experience financially within reach for all students, regardless of income.”
Davis’ career spans more than two decades, where she has held various leadership positions, most recently serving as the associate director of financial aid at Washington and Lee University. In that role, she successfully coordinated merit aid, managed the financial aid process for study abroad programs, and led multiple software implementations to streamline financial aid operations.
Prior to her time at Washington and Lee, Davis was the senior assistant director of needs analysis at the University of Southern California, where she was instrumental in managing undergraduate need analysis, supervising large teams, and optimizing financial aid systems. She is recognized for her strategic vision, having led the transition to new financial aid platforms and developed digital tools to improve student access to scholarship resources.
She holds a master’s degree in postsecondary administration and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, both from the University of Southern California.
