After spending three exciting weeks embracing academic and college life, a new group of German Fulbright students just left Virginia Tech.

Pamplin International Programs, in collaboration with the Department of Management and the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs, welcomed the German Fulbright Summer Institute: Leaders in Entrepreneurship from August 23 to September 14, 2024. This summer institute includes a unique and innovative core academic component focused on entrepreneurship, along with several experiential co-curricular and cultural elements. Pamplin Global Mentors were an integral part of the program, assisting the German students throughout the program to provide a peer experience.

The German Fulbright students engaged with current Pamplin students to build relationships with the global mentors and to explore professional opportunities with American students. Through a collaboration with the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs, German Fulbright students attended events that complemented their classroom learning while deepening their understanding of the entrepreneurship ecosystem. They were also provided with the unique opportunity to meet local and alumni entrepreneurs to expand their professional network.

On September 12, a closing ceremony took place at the Virginia Tech Inn. It was a very emotional moment during which all the students had the chance to reflect and share their thoughts and memorable moments from the program.

Every year when the German students leave, a piece of our hearts goes away with them; however, we look forward to welcoming another new group next year and sharing new memories with all of you!
