The National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE) has elected Menah Pratt, vice president for strategic affairs and diversity and professor of education, to its board of directors.

The association is a membership organization designed to provide tools to diversity professionals and higher education institutions through professional development and networking opportunities, including an annual conference.

“I am honored to have been elected to the NADOHE board and hope to do justice to the responsibilities bestowed on me,” Pratt said. “I have been a NADOHE member since 2006 and witnessed firsthand the organization’s impact on our incredible community of professionals. Hopefully, I can contribute to these essential efforts alongside my esteemed fellow board members, especially as we navigate current national conversations around our important work.”

Pratt’s appointment was announced on March 15 at the association's 2024 conference. Later this spring, she will attend an orientation with 21 other members to learn more about her new role.

“I know that she [Pratt] will have a wonderful experience with this excellent group of dedicated senior diversity officers who are committed to the mission, vision, and priorities of NADOHE and its members,” LaKesha Alston Forbes, chair of the nominations committee for the board of directors, said in her announcement email. Forbes also serves as the chief diversity officer and associate provost for equity and diversity and Title IX coordinator for East Carolina University.

Pratt’s term on the board will last three years. She was also named chair-elect for the Council on Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities in November.
