Leanne Bokinskie, a certified public accountant with more than 30 years of experience in higher education, corporate business development, and financial planning, has joined Virginia Tech as assistant vice president for finance and operations at the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus.

In this position, Bokinskie leads the financial planning and budgeting of the Innovation Campus and the facility operations of the campus and the Virginia Tech Research Center — Arlington.        

“We are thrilled to welcome Leanne as the newest member of the Innovation Campus leadership team,” said Lance Collins, vice president and executive director of the Innovation Campus. “She brings a superb combination of higher education and industry expertise that will serve our growing campus well.”

Bokinskie comes to Virginia Tech from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business, where she served as associate dean of finance and business operations. Prior to joining the University of Denver in 2016, Bokinskie spent 14 years at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where she was responsible for managing all financial aspects of the Office of Executive Education and negotiating client agreements.

Bokinskie joined Emory after more than a decade in the telecommunications industry in business development and financial project management. She also spent two years at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an auditor in the manufacturing industry. Bokinskie holds a degree in accounting from the University of South Florida.

As an assistant vice president for finance and operations, Bokinskie reports jointly to Collins and to Amy Sebring, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the university.

Optimizing operational support in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area is a university operations priority,” said Sebring. “Leanne’s leadership will be instrumental to building this strong bridge of support that will ensure the full Virginia Tech experience for our faculty, staff, and students in the D.C. metro area."
