  • As technology advances, it is increasingly viewed as a teammate working alongside health care workers, but technology is advancing at a faster pace than it can implemented appropriately and quickly.
  • The current electronic medical record is not designed to match the workflow of clinicians, but rather to optimize billing. This results in a time-consuming note-taking process, which often has clinicians catching up on charts after hours.
  • Challenges related to creating a successful integration of the latest technology in health care range from cybersecurity and operating system compatibility to employee training and shifting job duties.
