U.S. Air Force Capt. Elizabeth Archer and Capt. Amanda Jacobson were selected as the Hokie Heroes for Saturday's football game against Rutgers.

The Hokie Hero program honors corps alumni who are deployed. Recipients are highlighted by Bill Roth and Mike Burnop during their radio broadcast of Hokie football games, on the Corps of Cadets website, and in the Corps Review alumni magazine.

Archer graduated from the Corps of Cadets and earned her degree in computational modeling and data analytics from the College of Science in 2019. Serving as an F-15E Strike Eagle weapon systems officer currently deployed to Japan, she is a member of the 336th Fighter Squadron out of Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.

A 2018 corps graduate, Jacobson is also an F-15E Strike Eagle weapon systems officer assigned to the 391st Fighter Squadron out of Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. Currently deployed to Kadena Air Base in Japan, she earned her degree in industrial and systems engineering from the College of Engineering in 2019.
