Ashley Johnson named Preston and Catharine White Fellow
Ashley Johnson, program chair and associate professor of practice for the construction engineering and management program and associate director of academics in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, has been named Preston and Catharine White Fellow by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
The fellowship is funded from the Preston and Catharine White Endowment for the Myers-Lawson School of Construction. The endowment was established in 2008 with a $1 million commitment from Preston White, a member of the Class of 1962 who earned his bachelor’s degree in building construction, and his wife.
A member of the Virginia Tech community since 2015, Johnson is focused on construction engineering, management, lean construction, construction law and contract administration, and explores emerging practices in construction engineering and management education. She seeks to impact the construction industry through the development of best practices for the next generation of professionals.
Before coming to Virginia Tech, Johnson served as a project manager for Integrated Project Services Inc. and as a project engineer at CRB Builders, focusing on design-build projects in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Johnson received two bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in civil engineering with a concentration in transportation and in construction engineering and management and an MBA from Florida State University.
