In memoriam: Bruce Raines, Division of Campus Planning, Infrastructure, and Facilities
Bruce Gregory Raines Sr., retired Mechanical Services employee for the Division of Campus Planning, Infrastructure, and Facilities, passed away on Aug. 9.
During his service to Virginia Tech, Raines was known for his positive, hard-working attitude by his colleagues.
Raines was an active member of the Open Door Baptist Church. His hobbies included hunting, golfing, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and attending family reunions.
Raines is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Cindy, Theresa, Melissa, Bradley, Bruce, Kelley, and Barry; brothers, Jeff and Gary; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy.
