Chelsea Seeber has been named director of communications and marketing for the Virginia Tech College of Engineering, effective June 10. In this role, Seeber will lead the planning and execution of a comprehensive communications and marketing plan for the college that aligns with universitywide strategic goals and initiatives.

As a member of the college’s advancement team, she will actively contribute to coordinated efforts to increase alumni engagement, participation, and fundraising objectives associated with college priorities and university campaigns.

“Chelsea has played an important role in elevating the university’s research frontiers as well as the college’s contributions to the advancement of semiconductor research and curriculum through collaborative storytelling,” said Julie Ross, the Paul and Dorothea Torgersen Dean of Engineering at Virginia Tech. “She has a firm understanding of the college’s strategic plan, and we are excited to have her join the team and contribute to our growing presence here in Blacksburg and at the Innovation Campus.”

Seeber joined the college in January 2022 as the communications manager for the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where she implemented a strategic communications approach that highlighted faculty research and expertise as well as the department’s innovative and cutting-edge programs.

Prior to joining Virginia Tech, she worked as the communications and marketing manager for Huntington Bank’s West Virginia Region, where she implemented marketing campaigns across a variety of platforms and helped identify effective strategies to retain and acquire new customers.

She holds a master’s degree in journalism and a bachelor’s degree in public relations, both from West Virginia University.
