Students shine in musical showcase to raise money for scholarships
Exposition II: Inspire, the second annual student musical showcase to benefit the fraternity Delta Omicron and recipients of music scholarships, will be at 4:30 p.m. April 19 in the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech.
Presented by the Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts, the event will be held in the Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, located within the Moss Arts Center’s Street and Davis Performance Hall at 190 Alumni Mall.
Exposition II: Inspire will feature performances from the Virginia Tech Jazz Ensemble, the New River Valley Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Singers, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and select chamber music groups. Utilizing every inch of the Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, Exposition II: Inspire will combine elements of technology, artistry, performance, and pedagogy and showcase the talent and artistry of students and faculty. Concertgoers can expect a fast-paced, fully immersive musical experience that blends musical genres.
Founded in 1909, Delta Omicron is an international music fraternity with collegiate chapters established throughout the world. With organizational objectives centered in promoting American music and musicians, furthering the work of composers, and creating and fostering fellowship through music, Delta Omicron strives to musically and professionally enrich members through musical events, service projects, and professional development seminars.
Tickets are $20 general, $15 senior, and $5 student and available through the Moss Arts Center's box office, online, and at the ticket office in Squires Student Center.
Parking is available in the North End Parking Garage on Turner Street. Virginia Tech faculty and staff possessing a valid Virginia Tech parking permit can enter and exit the garage free of charge. Limited street parking is also available. Parking on Alumni Mall is free after 5 p.m. weekdays and on weekends.
