Kimberly Dulaney receives award from the National Association of Educational Procurement
Kimberly Dulaney, assistant director of procurement and contracts manager at Virginia Tech, received the Professional Perspective Award from the National Association of Educational Procurement at their annual meeting held in Louisville, Kentucky, earlier this month.
Dulaney received the award in recognition of her article, “Facts and Advice about Tackling the E-Procurement Challenge” published in the Fall 2013 issue of the Educational Procurement Journal. The article draws up her procurement experiences at both the University of Indianapolis and at Virginia Tech.
A member of the Virginia Tech community since 2010, Dulaney oversees existing campus contracts and negotiates substantial term contracts for university use. She is a member of the executive committee of the Virginia Association of State College and University Purchasing Professionals Cooperative Procurement Group where she is engaged in pursuing opportunities for strategic cooperative initiatives.
Dulaney also serves on the Commission on Staff Policies and Affairs and the Benefits Committee for Virginia Tech.
Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Dulaney was director of procurement at the University of Indianapolis where she established its Procurement Department where none existed. This position was responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining strategic procurement while exercising operational control of decentralized purchasing activities.
Dulaney received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis.
