Support your community by donating to help neighbors, colleagues, friends in need
The following is an open letter to Virginia Tech employees from Sherwood G. Wilson, honorary chair of the 2013 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.
Dear colleagues,
We all have a shared duty, as members of the communities in which we live, to help those in need and the Commonwealth of Virginia (CVC) campaign is one of the many ways we can do just that.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of about 1,400 of our employees, we raised $285,294. Imagine the difference we could make for children, adults, and animals across the state if all 7,000 of our employees donated.
As of Tuesday, 369 employees, less than 5 percent, have donated $123,236 toward our $300,000 goal this year. We have a long way to go, and just a few short weeks to do it.
Please, take a moment now to make your donation through the online CVC Pledge System . In just a few minutes, you can make a tax deductible gift that can be paid through payroll deduction. There’s no paper form to fill out, check to write, or mail to be sent.
The difference we can make – the difference we do make – is incredible.
Please join me in supporting this year’s Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC). While the campaign will go on through December 14, please, consider making your gift today.
