William W. Walton named director of business operations and fiscal affairs for Graduate School
William W. Walton has been named the director of business operations and fiscal affairs for the Graduate School at Virginia Tech.
In his new position, Walton will prepare and manage budgets for Graduate School operations. He will be responsible for financial reporting in all areas, including interdisciplinary and day-to-day budget transactions.
Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Walton was a budget and finance officer for the College of Pharmacy and an accounting manager for the Office of the Vice President for Research, both at the University of Kentucky. In addtion, Walton was a graduate research assistant along with his enrollment as a doctoral student in the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Kentucky. He is still pursuing his doctoral degree in public policy and administration.
Walton is a member of several financial management and policy associations, including the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in public administration from the University of Kentucky.
