Noreen M. Klein honored with emerita status
Noreen M. Klein, associate professor of marketing in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, has been conferred the title of “associate professor emerita” by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
The title of emeritus may be conferred on retired professors and associate professors, administrative officers, librarians, and exceptional staff members who are specially recommended to the board of visitors by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger. Nominated individuals who are approved by the board of visitors receive an emeritus certificate from the university.
A member of the Virginia Tech community since 1983, Klein conducted research in the area of consumer information processing and decision making. She wrote approximately 15 academic publications and monographs on such topics as the psychological aspects of pricing, selling strategies, and packaging.
She provided numerous services to the profession having served as a member of editorial boards and as a reviewer for premier marketing journals. She also served on the program committees and chairing tracks for major academic marketing conferences.
Klein taught courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in marketing management, marketing research, and consumer behavior. She has received several college teaching awards, advised many undergraduate and graduate students, and served on numerous master’s degree and doctoral degree committees in marketing and other Virginia Tech departments.
Klein received her bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. from Penn State University.
