Dr. Andreas Bachelez joins veterinary college as clinical assistant professor of small animal surgery
Dr. Andreas Bachelez has joined the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech as a clinical assistant professor of small animal surgery in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences.
Bachelez comes to the veterinary college from Washington State University, where he held positions as a clinical assistant professor of small animal surgery, clinical instructor, and small animal surgery resident. He was previously a small animal surgical intern at the DMV Veterinary Centre of Montreal, Quebec, and a small animal rotating intern at the University of Montreal Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
“Dr. Bachelez is an accomplished surgeon with interests in small animal orthopedics and minimally invasive clinical techniques,” said Dr. Greg Daniel, head of the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. “He is a well-regarded instructor and valuable addition to our surgical team. We welcome Dr. Bachelez to the veterinary college.”
In his new position, Bachelez will teach clinical surgical techniques to fourth-year veterinary students, interns, and residents, as well as provide small animal surgery support to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Bachelez earned a baccalauréat scientifique with highest honors in Bastia, France, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the National Veterinary School of Lyon in Lyon, France. He is board certified with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
