Virginia Tech offers reward in Heidi Childs and David Metzler case
Virginia Tech, working with the Montgomery County Sheriff, is posting a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the death of Heidi Childs and David Meltzer that occurred at the Caldwell Fields area of Montgomery County on or about Aug. 26, 2009.
“Two bright young lights were lost last week to a wanton act of violence and this university continues to mourn their passing. The killer or killers of these two young people must be brought to justice and we seek to assist police authorities in indentifying the assailant(s),” said Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger.
The Montgomery County Sheriff asks that anyone with any information relevant to this crime notify the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 540-382-2951.
The reward is made possible by gifts from the university board of visitors and the administration.
