Media Advisory -- Virginia Tech Board Of Visitors To Meet

The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold their quarterly board meeting on campus Monday, Mar. 10.

The full meeting of the board will be held on Monday, Mar. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Board Room of Torgersen Hall, Room 2100. Closed session will follow.

Subcommittee meetings on Monday are as follows:

• Academic Affairs Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m., Conference Room F, Donaldson Brown Hotel & Conference Center (DBH&CC).

• Building and Grounds Committee will meet in open session at 9 a.m. in Conference Room A, DBH&CC.

• Finance and Audit will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in the Executive Conference Room, DBH&CC.

• Student Affairs Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room C, DBH&CC.

Among topics under consideration are: creation of a Commission on Equal Opportunity and Diversity; set tuition for the 2003-04 academic year; review and approve the 2004-10 capital outlay plan; discuss a policy eliminating smoking in residence halls; discuss a change to the university's participation in a portion of the optional retirement plan; and discuss a plan to review general obligation bond projects. The board will hold an information session Sunday, Mar. 9 at 2 P.M.
